- Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich
- Has Wi-Fi tethering
- Has Bluetooth (doesn't say if it's ver. 4.0 or not)
That was just my initial impression of the basic specs.Coligny wrote:Seriously !? nothing else ?
Because aside from #1 who might be cool (albeit quite "expected").

I hope you didn't waste much of your time reading the comments. I mean reading comments by what's mainly a bunch of idiots on a piece of equipment that you can't even buy yet when there are a few new posts in the J-Babe thread, that would be a waste of time.BigInJapan wrote:I noticed that in the article too, however, if you read the comments (which include existing Android users and iOS users), it seems that the perceived lag might not be as great as the writer is implying.
You're right.Coligny wrote:Don't know for the galaxy, but for IOs devices it's not interface lag. It's slow execution.
Nope, just searched for "lag" and noticed lots of comments. Also a flame war which is probably bound to occur when "fandroids" and "fanboys" get their panties bunched up about something that isn't even on sale yet.Doctor Stop wrote:I hope you didn't waste much of your time reading the comments.
It looks like Samsung's trying to make themselves a little bit safer from lawsuits with this phone though.

serious though - whats the wimax part of the SII, does that mean its also a mobile wireless hub like a wimax? is that the same as tethering?
The guy that wrote the ASCII.jp review article above mentions that he was glad of the larger battery as it should last longer.tone wrote:i wonder if the SII battery life is any better, because my S1 makes me want to join the narita exp suicide thread in the wrong kind of way
BigInJapan wrote:Tethering (3rd row in each section) is faster, and the journalist conjectures that this is due to the attached computer being able to better utilize the signal. He figures that the smartphone's hardware is not up to fully utilizing the signal, resulting in slower speeds on the device itself.
