Listen to your cat

First there was Bow-lingual, so you could understand what your dog was trying to tell you.

Now, Takara has come out with Meow lingual for cat owners. Working on the same principal as Bow-lingual, it reads a cat's voiceprint and interprets the feline's feelings and speech using a vocabulary of more than 200 words.

Next, Takara is going to install a communication mode that can help understand the cat's mood. The data analysis will even measure how well a cat is suited to its owner.

Meow Lingual, Takara

This device thing weighs more than my cat but I can really imagine chasing after it trying to hold the Meowlingual close to its mouth. Here, Kitty, kitty, kitty...
Ultra pointed out a great line from Crispy which would fit cats as well from this old thread called, Re: 148,000 yen for dog emotion sensor ]

If you pay attention to dogs and cats, they'll teach YOU how they communicate and you wont need a silly expensive device like that.
Especially smart dogs. Our family dog (An Akita) tells us what he wants. And he also understand fairly normal human speech.

By the way, Caustic Saint, what happened to your Noodle Chicken avatar?

And is THAT avatar from "Now and Then, Here and There"?

Sadly, I lost the duck. (I thought it looked more like a duckling than a chick.) I had it linked from Nekobaba and it scrolled off their pages. Mistakenly, I thought I'd copied it to my server. It appears to be gone forever now. :( Shame too, I liked that one.

The current one is Naota from FLCL (or furikuri or Fooly Cooly, depending on how you want to say it). It's currently my favorite anime and one of the few I've watched more than once.
