Replacement cables

Postby Cyka UchuuJin » Mon Oct 19, 2015 11:07 pm

I have a situation. I have a Lifeproof iPhone 6 case, which i really love, especially when i'm up the mountain getting dirty or on long bike rides, but it requires a special heaphone extension port, and it only came with one, which I seem to have lost. Amazon.com has them for sale, but no shipping to Japlandia. Amazon.jp doesn't have the them for sale at all. Any thoughts where to get one?

That's issue number one. Next is I have a thing called a NuFace, it's a micro current anti-wrinkle thing, and it's great, except of course i left the charger for it in an hotel somewhere. The official NuFace site sells replacement chargers, but they don't ship to Tokyo. guys from the company where really nice and sent me the following:
It requires a 5 Volt, 1 Amp power supply. That itself is not unique, however it does require the correct size barrel for the plug that connects to the device. I have seen universal power adapters that come with several size interchangeable plugs, though I don’t know exactly where to get them.

It looks like your best bet would be to go to a travel store and see if they have an adapter with several size prongs that could work. I know I bought a really nice one at REI before a big trip for about $30 and it was awesome. You might want to stock up J

It's just a small hole at the bottom of the unit that you plug into (yeah yeah, joke away), and as I bought it in america, it shouldn't have any voltage concerns if i could find charger here. Anyone got any thoughts of where I could find the above two things?

Unless someone can recommend something specific your best best is to go to Akihabara with the case and the NuFace and all pertinent information and ask around at some of the stores.

Please tell me this "NuFace" is not something peddled by "NuSkin"? Sure looks similar (disclaimer: mildly batshit insane ex-GF, good times until she fell into the MLM snakeoil pit, and yes I did warn her).

I was wondering the same thing. Whatever it is you can be sure it's bullshit. In the last couple of years a ton of women in my Facebook network have gotten into the whole MLM thing. I don't know if it's just a coincidence or a growing trend but it seems to be the latter. They're mostly women in the US but a few in Japan too. At least in the case of my cousin she's pushing a diet program that's worked for her. Based on her photos I would say she's lost at least 100 lbs and has kept it off for 5 or 6 years.

For the iphone case, temporary solution could be a bluetooth headset.
Wireless, works well. Witched to them after me Julie started tomgo through 1 wired headphone per week...
Forge power supply.
Akihabara, any PSU giving 5v DC and AT LEAST 1 amp ( can be much more amps, no issue here as long as the voltage stick to 5v) double check polarity. Usually it's positive (+) inside ground (-) outside

Yes. There are lots that are switchable to a range of voltages, have all the sizes/varients of interchangeable barrel connector and can change polarity over. Check the polarity of the socket and set up to match - it isn't standard.

There are also regulated power supplies that cost more than the basic ones. I have no idea how sensitive/sophisticated you equipment is or how it is used. A regulated supply might be advisable if you want to be sure.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Thanks all. I actually managed to find the life proof cable buried in my kitchen drawer, but I've been considering a bluetooth headphone set for awhile now. Anyone wanna recommend one?

As for NuFace, it is NOT associated with NuSkin. It's a microcurrent machine that works on the muscles in the face to lift the jawline and cheekbone areas, and it does actually work. You have to commit to 5 days a week of doing it, but it actually does work and keeps me from getting that face lift for another few years. unfortunately though i've left the cable to it in LA and they won't ship to Japan. The Akihabara suggestion is perfect though, thanks!

Should be good for Little Big and Die Antwoord...
John Williams, James Horner or Basil Poledouris... not so sure...
