Fuck Sony.. Other than video camera's, I've been totally disappointed with anything they have to offer.

I'm VERY happy with my LG:

Cool, I've also been wondering about that one and the others at Flying Pig. More points for them. Thanks.

I've only had it about 5 months, but it's much better than the Sony I had previously; wasn't region free, remote layout was lame, and the menus were as confusing as could possibly be..

I also now have a year's supply of ketchup, laundry detergent, razors, raisins, salsa and popcorn. Thank you Flying Pig..

I bought a multi-region DVD player in Japan. They cannot advertise all region in Japan so the sales person won't tell you.
A sales guy told me that some Pioneer and most all JVC are multi-region. I bought a JVC about 2 years ago.
To test bring a DVD from various regions and pop them into the player and see if they run. I brought a DVD from US and Singapore (region 5??)
to verify.
I have never had a DVD that did not play in the machine including videos from Korea and China.

This site was usefull in helping me decide which machine to buy based on the multi region hack. The hack listed worked fine on my 12,000 Yen Marantz DVD player.
