Sha-mail phones are no replacement for a good digital camera.

I have heard that Singapore can offer the best prices on consumer electronics - so if you are planning a stop-over...

plus all manuals, menus etc will all be in English.

I bought an Olympus Dig Cam at a local discount electronics shop in Tokyo (not duty free). After purchase, for a small fee (about Y2000), dealing directly with Olympus service centre you can have an English manual and have the camera on-screen menu changed to English.
