I really wanted to buy a pocket pc, but it seems all the best Japanese dictionary programs are for palm, plus some of them seem to have options to let me plug in my own dictionary file to mess with..

Youre probably better aiming for value-for-money
Some the "better" ones have shit you wont need like built in cameras etc
Some have more useful features like bluetooth and sd slots..

Best Palm?

Postby etto_neh » Sun Dec 12, 2004 12:59 pm

Well- Personally, I love my Palm Tungsten|C... it has built-in wifi and a keyboard which is quite nice to have (I don't care how good with graffiti you are)... and finding open access points is a breeze here in Japan (thank you yahooBB users!) as well as in the US if you're close to any sort of population center ..

If you're in the US and are willing to shell out major coin, the hottest Palm thingy now is the Treo 650 which is basically a tungten |C with cellphone and camera. Niiiiiiiiice, but it's like $500.

Sadly though, one doesn't see a hell of a lot in the way of PDAs in Japan I guess since the cellphones are so robust.... major stores may have only a couple different models, but I may just not be looking in the right place, and I haven't been here that long anyway.
