Just like we anticipated earlier this month, the Santy worm is already finding new ways to spread.
This time The Santy worm variant continues to spread by now taking advantage of search engines such as: Google, AOL and Yahoo!. The worm uses these search engines to identify exploitable web pages.
The First version of Santy affected the popular free discussion Forum software, it's now able to affect any PHP website out there.
Variants on Santy.A which got quickly shut down by Google are now called Santy.B and Santy.E. While Google was able to shut this virus down quite quickly, its still uncertain what will happen now. All three companies use different technology and there is now more than one version out in the open.
Christmas is far from over.
Wibble?
