im pretty sure its a hoax. It looks too much like the iShuffle. and if it were real, im sure we'd be hearing from Apple by now.

And it's too soon for knockoff's to be appearing already.

Or does that site "mod" iShuffles?

The Lux Super Shuffle does look too much like the iPod and yet oddly impossible.
However the "Luxpro Corp" does have a full product lineup. and they did exhibit at last year's CEATACshow in Tokyo.

"It's not identical with the iPod Shuffle, it's better" - that at least is the way one of the people presenting the device for the Taiwanese company sees it (Hall 24, Stand C24-1). Under the name Super shuffle Luxpro is presenting an MP3 player with Flash Memory that at first sight cannot be distinguished from the iPod Shuffle.

Urged by Apple's lawyers Luxpro had taken the player out of its show cases on Friday, only to put it back in again on Saturday for the benefit of the weekend visitors to the CeBIT event. Who, moreover, did seem to show an interest in the device: The player offers besides all functions present in the genuine iPod shuffle an FM tuner, a WMA playing capability (according to the manufacturer also with digital rights management) and voice recording - only AAC support has to be dispensed with. At that the iPod lookalike is only marginally thicker and according to statements by staff at the stand "in any case cheaper than the original."

..."Our lawyers are in the process of weighing legal options," the Apple press spokesman, Georg Albrecht, told heise online.

i call "semi-hoax".
this company can make mp3 players and they have a full line up. what i assume they did is to mock up a small white case out of a shuffle, put one of their mp3 player in it, and call it a prototype. i am pretty convinced it is a one-off thing. they made it for the shock value of making everyone talk about them. they WILL get sued by apple for all the copyrights infringements they have made in such a little time, on so many level, but this coup will probably generate them more business on the rest of their products (and as an outsourcing company for all the big names in the cebit looking for a taiwanese manufacturer) than the lawsuit will cost them.

v 2.0 is very nice, but i am waiting for v 3.0 when he puts a usb port right on the headphones so that you don't have to remove the ipod for charging songs nor electricity.
