Toll-free number a.k.a. free dial

Postby Mike Oxlong » Fri Jul 21, 2006 12:11 pm

Lot's of cheapass companies here have "free dial" for landlines, but those on cell phones have to call a regular number, wait on hold, answer the same questions over and over just to make a flight reservation, etc.

Any way around that crap system, bar calling from work (not always possible in many work enviroments)?

Some of those companies will let you call their freedial numbers from pay phones. You put in 10 yen to start the call and get it back when you're done. Since pay phones are also more expensie than landlines though some companies block them too.

Otherwise....Get a landline?
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

More and more landlines are becoming IP denwa, and those are blocked from calling the toll-free as well. It is such a pain when you have to make a call.

Think that'll change any time soon?
