"Japan developed a postwar society that worships economic and technological development," says Yokoyama. "Therefore it is absolutely natural to reply on technology to fill in for the breakdown of traditional family roles, which accompanies rapid economic growth in our society."

Gotta love the poor logic here:
[a] "Japan developed a postwar society that worships economic and technological development"
[b] "Therefore it is absolutely natural to rely on technology to fill in for the breakdown of traditional family roles"
[c] "[traditional family roles breakdown] which accompany rapid economic growth in our society"

Okay, if I get the logic right here, you can't have traditional Japanese (Confuscion) thinking in a rapidly growing economy. Does that imply that Japan has taken steps backwards since the economy has been falling?

The biggest giveaway to poor logic is when someone alludes to intrinsic human behavior ("absolutely natural"). When I see that, little red sirens go off in my head. ;)

Ok, I love tech stuff, but I have got to see this!

Take the Tanakas, your typical dysfunctional Japanese family.

Watch how technology will change prevent Mr. Tanaka from going to pink salons, and will do all the house work for Mrs. Tanaka. WATCH how it will prevent A-ko from whoring to make money for her designer clothes but will still enable her to buy these worthless things. Watch how it will enable Taro to get in the school of his choice without studying even tho he spends most of his time shaking down old people for money so he can smoke, drink and play pachinko!

And if you believe all that I've got a bridge in Hachinohe for sale.

Actually, the old stone London Bridge was sold and moved to Arizona piece by piece - FACT
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

Are you serious? I was watching the history channel and the said that the guy wanted the London Bridge because London was selling it because it was getting to old for its original usage.

But history always depends on the writer.

Yep, and Yep. London bridge is falling down, falling down, Recognise the ditty? London bridge was in poor repair and unsafe so It was sold off to an American consortium who THOUGHT that it was the Tower bridge, an icon of London for a long time, and were not too pleased with the agent handleing the sale. In the usual damage control this was ignored in the publicity pack of the time. Americans do not make mistakes now do they? 8)

Yes I am an Aussie, I'll take the piss out of anybody but the story is as true as any historical anecdote ie this is what I have been told as I wasn't even born then to witness the transaction Minitruth any Orwellians out there??????
