HAHA! Truly shows how far behind the 'times' the folks at Symbian are... all of the features they describe were fully implemented on phones OTHER THAN Symbian , long before Symbian had any presence as a phone OS. Boo Hoo for them!

P.S. I'm now happily a NON-SYMBIAN user after finally trashing my last Nokia (ever). So tired of the sluggish performance, crashing, crap camera controls, restricted app installation, lack of features, etc etc... My old analog Nokia was far better in every way.

But if you were to just come out and say it, the overwhelming reason the mobile phone is so popular in Tokyo (and just about anywhere else) is because it allows people to avoid responsiblity. All those 20 features above don't add up to squat when compared to the real value: the relative anonymity, the ease of blowing off appointments, the excuse for showing up late to meetings by 20, 40, 60 minutes, or the opportunity to generally just disappear.
