Canon Repair Centre in Tokyo? Help!

Postby Kagetsu » Thu Aug 16, 2007 11:43 pm

I was at Yoyogi (or near there, photographing the fireworks tonight, when at about 1700 something frames, my shutter gave out on my 5D, and the mirror game off, fortunately not damaging any of the internal structure, but it looks like the mirror box needs replacing.

Can anybody tell me where I need to take it to get repaired? I thought Fujiya camera could tell me, but my broken Japanese isn't good enough to get through asking who to see about it, and my other option was S Tower in Shinagawa.

Can anybody help me? I need to drop it off where ever it may be at 10AM tomorrow as I need it by the end of the day. ~_~

Cheers, Kagetsu.

You are terribly optimistic.

If you google on "canon repair center Tokyo" the top hit is this list of places, listing sites in the Ginza, Shinjuku, Yokohama, etc.

The Shinjuku Canon do very quick repair work, you could probably have it done within a couple of hours. IF THEY ARE OPEN! Being Obon week you can't be too sure, but there is no mention of it on their website.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.

Well, I found the repair centre in Shinjuku... Looks like it'll take a week to complete the repairs. Oh well, thanks everybody for your help.
