I've got a big one

Well actually I haven't really but I want one. At some stage this year I want to buy a new telly, probably LCD, looking at the 46" size but not firm on either of these points. Having a play with the new Sharp EX5 series at the local Yamada Denki the other day I saw that it had an English option for all the menus. The semi-retarded salesman couldn't tell whether this was a) on all Sharp models or b) available with other brands. Anyone here shed any light?
Recommendations are also requested as well as things to avoid, tips etc. I've got a few other semi-related questions to ask but not sure whether I should bung them all in this thread or start new ones, not sure of the protocol around here. Thanks.

The ability to switch the language into 1 of either 8 or 14 different languages (English is always one of them) is more less standard on Japanese made LCD TVs (and most other simple electronics with an on screen interface), but you do occasionally get the oddball model that doesn't for some reason. When in doubt check the manufacturer's website or email the manufacturer for the specific model you are interested in.
