It' a one touch power on/off device. My friend would be able to power up his computer / printer / screen etc with minimum effort with one of these.

It's a fancy-pants power strip/concentrator (allows you to engage all ports simultaneously, or just one at a time). They were big with computers in the early 90's before vendors supported environmentally-friendly "green" modes.

Dang.
Last March/April I helped shovel out several hundred similar power supply contollers. Oh well. It's the thought that counts.

Indeed!

Now if you can remember the manufacturer or any other details about them I can get on the phone.

Steve,

I was thinking of alternatives of you can't find what is in the picture.
Not sure how handy you are with tools but this would not be very difficult to make.
There are various types of AC switches available. You could make (or have made for you) a small box with a switch that would function as a master AC switch for a standard AC power strip. One advantage to this is the switch box would not have to be that large and could be mounted in a convenient place. Another advantage is all the AC cables would be on the floor reducing the clutter behind th PC.

Guest; good idea.

I missed the part about the upper body movement trouble. Looked at the picture and thought that the lower was the problem.

Anyway, they are foot switches like the kinds used on sewing machines that could be wired as a master On/Off into a standard AC power strip. One click -On one click -Off.

I'll drop by the local PASUCON store and order it today. Thanks to everyone who responded. I got some good ideas.

Together we made one life a little easier.
