Ketai Comparison

Postby jasper » Mon Jan 27, 2003 11:15 am

Anyone know of links to online sources comparing DoCoMo, AU, J-Phone, etc. on the basis of bilingual friendly features, monthly costs, other fees, etc.
Been here many years and have held out to the point that I believe I am the only biped in the country sans Ketai. Now looking forward to becoming a Zombie.

I'd be surprised if there was. I suggest getting out and doing the rounds. Shouldn't be hard to find outlets of the various companies. Pick up their brochures and do the comparison yourself. If there're no English brochures it's doubtful the English support would be very good. Of course there is the danger of being talked into a purchase by an attractive salesperson... but then you'll have your new toy and it'll be problem solved.

I certainry agree wisu ramchop.

Get out comparison shop. I went to a Jusco, found a dealer that had every maker, and got their brochures. I looked for bilingual, camera, and email with long message and picture capabilities.

J-Phone happened to be the cheapest with the best coverage and all those features.

That picture is the exactly color and model I chose. It was ni-man en. The service plans were cheap and if I add a second phone there would be no service fee for it.
I get 10 yen per minute 24/7 anywhere in Japan, the ability to send long email messages up tp 6000 characters with photo attachments at 20 yen per message and many other options.

I'd say find one that is cheap, has a service centre or dealer nearby and has the options that you want at the price that you are willing to pay.

If I am not mistaken, many of the dealers are supposed to be bilingual. The one I went to was and she answered any and all questions I had, as it took 2 hours for me to decide, activate and finalize the purchase. i bought my phone about 1.5 years ago, Aug 2001.

Good Luck,
