Uh, this insanely expensive device does the same thing that any human who has spent enough time with dogs can do themselves. Dogs aren't the most emotionally guarded animals out there...

If you have a smart dog, that isnt necessary.

And even better. If the dog has smart master it isnt necessary

Just four months until we can understand dogs! Dog-to-English translator to become a reality
metro.co.uk Monday 30 Dec 2013
Anxious to know what your dog is thinking? The wait could soon be over as a ‘dog-to-English’ translator is set to become a reality in just four months.
No More Woof hopes to deliver the first translation devices in April 2014, after smashing its fundraising target this month.
The Nordic Society for Invention and Discovery hoped to raise $10,000 (£6,066) using crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, but has now raised over $15,000 (£9,101) with 47 days to spare.

Reminds me of that "erai" elderly scientist, who predicted in his talk in front of an obligatory audience (after all, the guy was world-famous inside Japan, so no way to escape this opportunity to be educated) that future technology will allow us to talk with plants (the biological type, that is, not the industrial).

I got the strong urge to comment that even if we would be able to, it would make for pretty boring conversation, and I did not anticipate a meaningful philosophical discussion with the rhododendron in my garden.

But I shut up.

After all, I have to feed a family...
