Have these things from hell escaped from containment in French territories ?

Using only these partners in horror as powersources:

I was watching a French horror movie "horsehead" and when the main Sheila used one to walk down the old house... The worse part were the flashbacks of being kid in the countryside in various corners of the Hexagon trying to find the electrical fuse panel that had a strong tradition of tripping during summer's heavy thunderstorms.
Having just these damn pos "pocket lights" (lampes de poches) with the battery always on their last leg, a switch usually faulty and an impressive amount of copper oxydation in the contacts and rust on the body...
I don't remember seing much of them outside France... Which is fine in fact since really few devices reach this microsoft-esque level of spread while also barely being able to do their 1 job...
But starting to wonder if i'm blacking them out spychrologically or if they were successfully eradicated in the rest of zee world...

(Btw, this movie is fucked up... Avoid... Maybe...)

Those flashlights will also take a MN1203 Manganese battery. They used to be available in the US (mostly East Coast) as they were imported and distributed by a French-owned company in the US (now defunct) called the WONDER CORPORATION OF AMERICA.

Here's a page that shows a model: http://www.flashlightmuseum.com/Wonder- ... ocell-1940 A few for sale on eBay and Etsy...

American 'battery nostalgia' (not Ike beating Tina Turner) looks like this:

Ok, thanks, so the threat has been contained...

Bonus, usually the inside metal edge was not sanded... And cut likabitch when closing the box...
