When you display your digital images on a monitor, how do you know what you're looking at is an accurate representation of what you actually photographed or scanned? For most people, the answer is "You don't."
This is nearly criminal given that the last five years have ushered in a genuine revolution in desktop digital color. We now have stunning hi res LCD panels, graphics cards that pack more silicon than the computers they're installed in, photo quality printers, and digital cameras with more resolution than 35 mm film.
