Japan Microsoft say source code for Win2k leaked

Postby Taro Toporific » Fri Feb 13, 2004 6:40 pm

Image Source code for Windows 2000 operating system leaked, posted on WebKyodo / Friday February 13, 4:03 PM
Microsoft Co., the Japanese arm of Microsoft Corp., said Friday the source code for its Windows 2000 operating systems (OS) was leaked and posted on certain Web sites. A source code constitutes a key part of an OS, and the leak could make it easier for hackers to break into a range of computer systems and disrupt networks.

I am actually surprised that this hasn't happened already. Oh well, life goes on. I wonder who leaked it.. only time will tell, and I'd say that bastard will face an onslaught of prosecutory procedures.

I dunno what it is, but somebody at my school's been fucking with Slashdot. If I try to view the main page at work I get this:

Either your network or ip address has been banned from Slashdot

...due to script flooding that originated from your network or ip address -- or this IP might have been used to post comments designed to break web browser rendering. Or you crawled us with a rude robot, especially one that doesn't understand RFCs very well.

Now, I know it wasn't me... Could I be working with some of those legenday Korean spammers? 8O

Slashdot are just a bunch of redneck steers anyway. Post an intelligent comment there and you're more likely to get a -1 Troll because your opinion is different to theirs rather than because your point was invalid.

As a consequence, there is a "median opinion" on that board which defaults to "unemployed-redneck-Texan-aspiring-to-be-a-Linux-network-security-specialist". Oh and likes anime and has rote learnt a few Japanese phrases from Ranma or whatever.

I don't post about programming issues on slashdot.

Let's see if we can't find that thread and bump it back up ... have you had enough time yet to think of an answer to my last post?
