Animating Subway Tunnel Walls

Postby GuyJean » Thu Jun 03, 2004 7:52 am

SHIT!! I thought of this 5 years ago!!!... Aaaaarrghhhh.. I have to learn to patent some of my thoughts.. Oh, well.

Animated Picture Ad on Subway Track Wall
http://news.tbs.co.jp/headline/tbs_headline-e972087.html
The animated picture is projected from 150 boxes lined up on a stretch of about 200 meters. In the box, a large number of photographs in the shape of oblong card is aligned to depict the continuous movement of an image.

I seem to remember the tunnel at the Narita end for the Narita Express line used to feature some elementary animation.

Given the state of London's underground, the only way this will work is if staff run along the platform holding pictures while the train faces yet another delay.

"PRIOR ART"!

This has been done for a long time. Narita copied that "elementary animation" from the installation in Denver International Airport (DIA).
