Where to buy English language desktop keyboards?

Anyone know where they sell English language natural (hands split) keyboards online? Either USB or PS2 is fine but, I don't want a cordless setup again. Two top, DosV paradise don't seem to carry them.

You have to call them to place the order, but they do provide worldwide shipping and offer very cheap prices. I don't know what the shipping would be like but that is one way to get the item you desire.

You can just buy any old japanese keyboard. All english charactors are there (and a few bonus ones) if it is configures proberly it wont really matter. the only reall fidderence the @":;+*/ are in different positions. Even if you use a UK english or a US english the layout is slightly different anyway.

It is really hard to find English keyboards here unless you go to Akihabara.
Even then, few places stock many.
My old logicool cordless keybaord and mouse deal is driving me nuts with batteries running out at unexpected times.

I really do not want a Japanese keyboard because I will then spend the next 3 months hitting the wrong keys for certain things.

It is not the price. It is the fact that the battery life is so short in these things.
My logicool mouse runs out like every 3 weeks admittedly the keyboard uses a lot less power. Wireless keyboards and vermin for desktop systems are in my opinion overkill and unnecessary.
You know, it is 3 am and you are typing something online and your bloody batteries run out after you have had a couple of bottles of wine, you drive out to the nearest convenience store, during which you get pulled over by the cops.
All because of bloody cordless technology which is not necessary.

Same for me. But for my mouse I find there is slightly more lag.. So I am using a Logitech MX-510 gamer mouse.

The one with the individual palm rests, keypads for right and left hand? Yeah it was amazing. But the price is rather high at $279-89... I wouldn't mind giving it a try if I had that much to spend on toys.

At Yamada Denki. It is one of the ergonomic split style keyboards, all English, for 8000 yen last year. Give them a look see.

The touchstream seems indeed very nice, it's a keyboard and amouse at the same time. I guess that's the next toy every geek wants to get.
I'd really like to try one to see if it's actually worth the price.
On the same topic, i'd really like a try with the frogpad the one handed keyboard that let you type faster than a regular keyboard (according to the maker...)

Could have sworn I saw one in a small computer shop a few days ago... might have been less than 1000 yen... It didn't have the dreaded IME mode switch key (I hate those things).

But I hate short-stroke keys on keyboards, which is why I'm using a two year-old relic that came with computer... Keyboards must have a big enter key and long-stroke keys for better feedback... eh.

Most people use ROMANJI input anyway which makes it hard to work out why a Japanese keyboard is necessary.

It's not so much the Japanese keyboards themselves that I hate, it's that damn mode switch key that takes up space where a full-sized space bar should be.

I always hit it so it causes the input mode to switch from Romaji to Japanese imput.

And Romaji input is definately better than the kana layout on boards, so I hate when the Microsoft IME glitches and doesn't give a Romaji input option sometimes.

In Akihabara, you can get an English keyboard at Tsukumo (which have a whole 6 floors of new and used PC parts to wander though). Out of the station, head to the main road, turn right and keep walking till you see get to the huge black building.

Yeah, I looked at their website a week or so ago but, the keyboards they have listed are real clunkers. Maybe, they have better ones at the store.

In the company where i work every file name and every folder name is in katakana/hiragana/kanji. It's a small company so it might not be standard. I haven't checked other places personally but it always made sense to me even if it's a pain for an ignorant gaijin like myself.

Found a place in Akihabara that sells imported PC stuff.
You pay through the nose for it but at least they have almost everything including region free DVD players.
