Pupils must learn secret of thinking
Gulf Daily News, Bahrain / Tuesday 15 July 2003
CHILDREN must be taught to think for themselves and to carry on learning all their lives, says a Bahraini headmaster fresh back from a study tour of Japan.
The Japanese have found the secret to rapid progress in an education philosophy that opens up young minds, says Shaikh Abdul Aziz Secondary School for Boys headmaster Jaafar Mohamed Al Musali...

if the Japanese can think... God only knows what the hell the people are doing in Bahrain! Are the Bahrainies at complete mercy of their instincts and emotions?

I can see that:- Some person gets hungry, but they can't control themselves and stop shouting "I'm hungry!" at everyone for long enough to think about where to find food.

Is this guy certain he was in Japan? Okay, now seriously, the Japanese may be good at rapid teaching in an environment that stresses learn and regurgitate, but are they really better at instilling inquisitiveness or creativity than other societies?

Maybe he mistook a high pitched female "Nani?" as a sign of inquisitiveness rather than stupidity.

Or perhaps he really was on a study tour of America but for political reasons he had to change his statement and complement a non-christian first world country.
