Like I said, it's not at all sure at this momentwhether I will be sued at all. At this moment the guy's lawyer is talking to witnesess and making their "case" which I doubt they (will) have...

So, no. I don't think I need to consult with a lawyer just yet. I refuse to consult with an expensive lawyer to get to know the correct Japanese term for 'Character Witness Statement', but will do so when I actually get a letter in the mail saying I am being sued. I hope that puts your mind at ease for now.

You don't necessarily need an expensive lawyer. Try your local government office, which will have a free legal consultation service on with regard to your topic probably once a week or so.
Bear in mind that unless you commit a crime, it can often take a couple of weeks to be able to book an appointment to even see a lawyer in a civil case, and that many are won because defendants are not prompt enough in responding to a plaintiff's claims.
