Best Language School in Tokyo Area

Postby hellosalaryman » Thu Dec 15, 2005 6:10 pm

Hey FG's,
I'm looking for the best language school in the Tokyo area to prepare for passing the JLPT. I will be coming to Japan in late summer or early fall this next year and would love to pass JLPT level 2 by December, and level 1 by the following December. I have already taken a year of college level Japanese, and started the 2nd year but didnt have the time to devote and had to drop. However, which ever school I go to must have visas.

Right now I've been looking into the following:
Kichijoji: http://www.klschool.com/
Naganuma: http://www.naganuma-school.or.jp/
Kai: http://www.kaij.co.jp/

Please let me know of what you've heard of these schools, epecially if you have personal experience with them. Also if you guys know of any other great ones, please let me know.

Years ago, everyone used to recommend Naganuma as the best; however, I have no Idea about how it has been treated by time.

Good luck with an impossible language!

If you are going for sponsorship you are very limited in when you can start and how long you can study for.

Start in the October term and you can get 1.5 years' of "pre-college student visa". Start in April and you can get 2 years' worth.

If you want to mazimize the amount of time you get on this visa status then you will be better off coming in either April 2006 (probably too late for visa processing at this point) or April 2007.
