August 23, 2011 | www.TUJ.ac.jp/news
Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) has announced a revised scholarship and grant program for incoming degree-seeking students. Amounts awarded range from 415,000 yen (matriculation fee waver) to approximately 5.1 million yen (about 78% of the 4-year tuition)...more...

There's a lot of talk in the US of a "higher education bubble." TUJ's tuition is certainly nothing if not bubblelicious - hence the need for scholarships.

-catone
-my experience with TIJ is limited to one class I tried to take there a couple of years ago. 100,000 yen for two hours every Wed. night for ten weeks - ie, 10,000 yen per lecture. The teacher was a schlubby American-expat-wife whose only qualification seemed to be that she was a native English speaker. In other words, an Engrish teacher. But the subject she was teaching, architecture, was her "hobby," so there was that at least. I cancelled after that one class and demanded a goddamn refund, which I got.

I spent a fortune taking classes, but they kept changing the program, so I ended up with no degree and a hole in my finances...

Plus the earthquake almost killed TU since Phillie campus (and most foreign students) left and don't want to come back...TU had to lay off staff and shit....

I prefer that dried imo (not emo, but I'm sure that emos also have lots of fiber) stuff. Too many prunes, and I have to plan my day around the toilet.

Guys, you HAVE to try this jam:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirabelle_plum

It's nearly impossible to obtain here (even if "Bonne Maman" brand make it by the truckload back home... and I mean real home, not Paris, Lorraine-Ken in the east... waaaayyy to close to them kraut...) And it's also one of the really rare seasonnal Jam. French supa' jam aisle look like a Totoya dealearship all year long... Too many choices to even check them all in a lifetime. But Mirabelles Jams are only available few month of the year, around autumn after the summer pickup. Obliging me to store for the next year in few week time...

In the states you can order from here:

I realized what I love about you guys (in a platonic way, except for Cyka). You all have ADD as bad as I do. Only took about 4 posts to go from Temple U Japan to means to achieving a steady and regular fecal output.

Does your job involve eradicating commas?

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi, but however amusing the above piece of advice may be, the example given of correct grammar is actually not the case. Adding a comma after "Jack" is not grammatically correct. What changes the meaning is capitalization. Still laughed, though....

Exactly what I thought as I read it. Nice to see another so pedantic around here. It reminds me of a t-shirt a friend wears, "Stop the bus and let my brother Jack off." :D

I hope you're not accusing me of fucking little kids are you? (Just kidding...for some reason, this word conjured up memories of the Welsh protest against a pediatrician some years ago because they believed he was a pedo...)

Again, capitalization is the driver of meaning in that sentence, but a pair of commas could sure clarify...
