All joking aside that is a pretty good link. As I am still considering what i should do next year I took a good long look at the. The scholarship is not to cheap also. But it is only given to 5 students. I wonder it is it possible that I would get it. I hopefully would be the token white guy.

I would even change my name to token.
Am I still not allowed to have a sig?

A recomendation from your professors and college dean is a good start in getting any J- scholarship. Some background in civil engineering or urban planning would help. If it was me, I would pay a bribe to get a Lithuanian passport (going price $3,000) and then apply as a developing country token white guy.

There are far more easy ways of getting a passport. For much less than $3000. What you do is go to the country. Go to a graveyard and look for a babies grave around your year of birth. Then apply to the local 'ward' office and get a birth certificate. the birbe a police man to sign on the passport application form. Change you name by deedpoll so you now have a pasport with two names one matching your degree. This method still actualy works in the UK iam sure it is probably easier in Lithuainia. Hell they probably will just give you one if you asked.

I can easily get my professor (well a lecturer at least) to give me a great recomendation. As he gave me one already for the internship I am in. I can also get a recomendation from my internship. And my manager is quite a famous Doctor in japan, I might even go to his university.

I cant wait 200 000 yen a month is enough for me to live off of. And i get to hang will all the cute collage J-girlies. WOW

Also, there can be free or super-low-cost housing for FG grad students on such grants. In Tsuba_Dai, it can be quite nice --- 0 to 20,000 yen for grad student 1 DK with free parking, trees, BBQ etc.

A friend of mine got into the Nara university this year. He benefited from gouvernmental scholarship. he told me that his health bulletin was as important as his grades to get the scholarship.
There's a rumor going that this year, no scholarship were given to chinese students due to sars issues.
