Wanted: Battery Operated Personal DVD player

Postby GomiGirl » Thu Mar 20, 2008 9:05 pm

Please help.

My sister-in-law is stuck in hospital for the next month. The Nurse Ratchets will not let her use electricity and she has to pay a ridiculous amount for TV and fridge usage. They will not let her use her laptop or any other gadget that uses electricity - stingy bastards.

Does anybody have a battery operated (rechargeable) personal DVD player that I could borrow for the next month? We will take excellent care of it.

Or if you know where I can get one fairly cheaply or even second hand that would work too. Region free would be the best of course as I have bought DVD's with lots of different regions. This is fine for home as we have a region free player.

Could a kind soul help us out? Am happy to meet up in Tokyo to collect or pay Chakubarai for Takkyubin.

GG, sorry to say my only portable DVD technology is my notebook computer (which I need!).

But if I recall, a recent episode of NHK's FG group therapy show "Cool Japan" featured tourists visiting Don Quijote in droves to pick up a 6000 yen portable player. If that's true, then it's half the price of the cheapest unit at Bic Camera.

Damn! My portable DVD is only plug-in.. Probably why I don't use it much; can she use a cigarette lighter? I have an adapter for that..

She can use mine if she can plug it in..

Try just getting a battery operated DV player and then buy a lot of rechargable batteries and a battery charger. Sanyo sells a a good set a 4-AA batteries and a charger at Yodobashi Camera and other places.
