Actually Windows Vista has full MUI support and the language can be set on a per-user basis. TFG could set the computer up so that when he logs in he gets English but when his wife logs in she gets a full Japanese interface. MS Office is the same way and has been since Office 2k.

But there's probably a reason why he hasn't already done that already.
Doesn't know how or has to give Microsoft more money or got divorced again?

What processor does it have? Wireless G or N? 6 cell battery or 9 cell? How big is the hard drive?

Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Enterprise support MUI "officially" and are very easy to set up.

Other versions can have it enabled "unofficially", searching Google will give many results on how to do it.

I mentioned Windows Vista's MUI abilities above but should also have added that MS has actually provided fully multilingual Windows installs since Windows 2000. Unfortunately Win2K and WinXP multilingual versions were only available through Enterprise licenses. I look forward to having MUI support in Windows 7 when I replace my notebook next year. :)

This one, I think. Will check it later.

AMD Turion(TM) X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-74 (2.2GHz)

Of course I know IME has full Japanese or any other language functionality, she needs the user Interface in Japanese.

MUI stands for Multilanguage User Interface and enabling Japanese will give the full Japanese UI.

If your machine has Vista Ultimate on it then it has MUI support out of the box. If it is a lower version of Vista then you can enable it "unofficially" with a bit of work.

Sorry, it is not the above mentioned CPU it is actually the following one.

AMD Turion (TM) X2 Dual Core Mobile RM-72 2.10 Ghz

And, yeah, I know I could change the MUI but couldn't be bothered messing around as she will not be happy until she sees a Japanese keyboard in front of her.

The layout is different on a Japanese keyboard and some people are kind of fussy about it.

Actually, I may just keep it for myself and just use it as a backup pc for trading with in case my main desktop ever goes on the blink in the middle of a trade.

Ok, folks.
I decided to keep this laptop for backup as there is not much interest anyway.
