Anyone want a 26" JVC TV?

A friend of mine has a large color JVC television (Model AV-K29MR2, roughly 4 or 5 years old) to sell for 10,000 yen o.b.o. She seems pretty flexible on price. You would be responsible for pick-up in Hiroo/Minami Azabu area. Dimensions are 73 cm x 58 cm x 52 cm. Displays teletext in English, German, Estonian, Lithuanian, Russian, Czechoslovakian, and Ukrainian.

My friend reports some trouble with the sound. She is not at all a techie, so it is possible that the issue can be resolved by playing with the on-screen menus or fiddling with the connections.

Caustic, forget about that other TV you posted about. Go for my friend's TV to get you started (you can probably get it for very little $$). Later on, after you've saved up some cash, you can do your comparison shopping for that $1000 TV set if you need it.

All the content of NHK is B.S......However, this is the hi-rez Broadcast Satellite TV of the party-line of stalinistesque NHK. It's quite good as long as you don't have to pay for it.

Taro Takyubin will get it across town on a weekend in the Benz.

That would be handy, but I've been informed that all purchases of anything larger than a book of matches will have to wait until we're in our new digs. (Which have yet to be found/leased/etc.)
