Hello,
Sorry, that's part of the problem, Takyubin is pretty pricey for something like this, and I don't have a truck.

I got a free fridge once here in Osaka. Rented one of those little white Kei trucks for the day to go get it. I think it was about 6,000yen for the rental.

There are a few removal companies around that are fairly reasonable.. naturally the person getting the free fridge should pay for it.

Companies like Quoz Moving if you want English speakers. These guys helped me move and they were very reasonable and friendly.

Or for small things Akabou - "Red Hat" are good too. I have used them before and are quite cheap and friendly.

Source J@pan Inc Newsletter
The official Akabou website (http://www.akabou.jp/) is in Japanese only,
but several local Akabou Cooperatives advertise or handle requests in English. These
locales include:
* Yokohama (http://www.porters-express.com/page/english.html ),
* Nagoya (http://www.mb.ccnw.ne.jp/h-akabou/english.htm), and the
* Tokyo Metropolitan area
(http://village.infoweb.ne.jp/~fwkc9604/akaboue.htm ).
If they cannot handle your request, they will probably refer you to
someone who can.

If you use Kuroneko it can be really expensive for a fridge.

This doesn't help Going Home with his fridge in the slightest but you've reminded me of this tank-like Kuroneko truck:

Depends on whether or not you want to use the gun turret!

I just sent my Washer and Drier and they ran 5,000 each.
(a Short distance)
My Guess is a refrigerator would run about 10,000 yen.

Having or renting a small truck is probably the best option.

Well I live in Hyogo prefecture so it is a hella distance from Machida... :D but I am curious because if it is around 5000yen I might be able to pony up.

I remember Caustic Saint bought my washer/dryer unit when I moved away. Caustic, how did you transport it?
