Kitchijoji/Inokashira Koen living

Postby oyajikun » Thu May 19, 2005 2:34 pm

Can anyone here help me with a few questions on living in Kitchijoji?

My fiance and I are looking at buying an apartment/townhouse in the Kitchijoji area. I am not very familiar with the area apart from Inokashira Koen. Can you recommend nice places to live?

Also, this is my first time at buying. Any help with what to look for in Japanese construction and the like would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well near the park is probably the most expensive and sough after area in Kichijouji.
There's another are called kitta kichijouji, it's mostly residential and very green I have no idea how much an apartment/townhouse can cost there but it's a really nice neighborhood, even if it's a little far from the station.

Kichijoji can be expensive because of the Keio and Chuo Line running through. Like any other place in Tokyo, you might find a deal with some of the older ghetto tatami apartments but you'll get what you pay for. If you like the area but don't mind living further from the city center, then I would suggest Mitaka or Musashi Sakai and Koganei area which are still on Chuo line.
