My mother is getting close to 70 and my sister weighs about 300lbs... You may wish to reconsider.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

My former editor/OL/secretary lives on the beach of Enoshima. Depending on my schedule, for the past five years I have been using her place to shower off the toxic filth of my body after surf kayaking there. There are several factors you need to remember about living there:
On late fall/winter/early spring days like this--another words 7 months of the year--- the constant cold wind and driving sleet makes life miserable.
Enoshima (especially Shonan towards Hiratsuka) is toxic waste dump---The Cadmium levels of the sand by Swedish standards would have it be permanently closed.
It's rather expensive to live there, and at a minimum it's 1hr and 45 min commute (closer to 2.5hrs realistically) to Tokyo for work
Only hippy chicks over the age 45 live there year round (cool for me but not great if you're under 30)
When not if there's a real tsunami/typhoon everyone within 2Km of Shonan shore will be dead.
Bottom Line: Visit Enoshima/Shonan, don't live there.
