Long term Gaijin house

Postby irishpacker » Tue Jul 21, 2009 9:01 pm

Right I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't seem to find whatever thread it's in. So appologies for most likely repeating the same-old same-old!

Is it possible or realistic to spend very long periods (i.e. up to a year) living in a Gaijin house or are they only intended as short term accomidation?

Renting an flat seems to involved excessive costs and trouble, and as a poor student I'd much rather save costs!

Advice? Cheers chaps!

Sure, lots of people do that. In the past I have known people who have lived in gaijin houses for years and years. Not really sure how they survived but they did.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Japanese friend of mine stayed in one for a year or so, when she returned from Oz. She just made me explain how to write "Please flush the used toilet paper. Do not put it in the trash can." in English. It seems that after a group of _________ moved in, fecally soiled toilet paper started winding up in the trash can or the recycled paper bin.

:::Raises hand:::

Been at one for quite a long time. A bit more dormy and less share-housy than some GH's I know. But there're several of us who've been here pretty long term (years).

Up until 2006 when he passed away from colon cancer, my good buddy Larry had lived (with his J-wife) in a gaijin house for 5 years and both were quite happy and content there.
