Hello FG`s,

In Japan many people revise strange aptitude test when they are looking for work in preparation for interviews.

Here are some examples of some questions you might get;-

Please write the next letter in the sequence.

1. [A] [A] [B] [B] [C] [C] [ ]

2. [E] [F] [P] [G] [H] [P] [I] [J] [ ]

3. [H] [J] [M] [Q] [ ]

4. [A] [A] [B] [D] [G] [ ]

These are pretty simple but after forty or so your mind starts going numb. There are many different variations of this type of test but most of them have number pattern questions. However there are also some questions featuring different shapes and you must predict the next pattern. For example;-

1.Image 2.Image 3.Image 4. ?

1.Image 2.Image 3.Image 4. ?

These are uncomplicated, but sometimes they do get a little tricky. Just wondering, is this sort of test only done in Japan and has anybody here taken one of those aptitude test papers?

These kinds of tests are pretty common fare in IQ tests all over the interwebs. They used to be popular decades ago for things like school entrance tests, job interviews and the like, but not so much anymore. The last tests that featured these kinds of problems that I took as part of a job application process were both for government jobs but that was 15 years ago.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

I took one about 2 weeks ago. I think they are quite strange. Maybe they are not so common in Japan anymore.
