Internet shop Yahoo vs Rakuten

Postby TFG » Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:20 pm

I am thinking of setting up a web shop with a friend, the shop will mainly be concerned with selling imported women's fashion and cosmetics.
Anyone have any experience with either the Yahoo online shopping or Rakuten's service?

Thanks in advance.

I think Rakuten's service is BY FAR better, but that's just my opinion...

Appreciate the input folks.
I presume you prefer Rakuten from a consumers point of view or do you actually have an online shop with them?

I don't have a shop, but know several people that have set one up pretty easily. The system is supposedly pretty good.

From a consumers point of view, Rakuten is by far better, which should equal more sales for you, which means use Rakuten regardless of how much of a pain in the arse it is for you to set up your shop. ;)

You were right people!

I applied for the shop online and got a phone call from Rakuten advising me within 15 mins of applying, You call yahoo and wait 15 mins before anyone picks up the phone.

Thanks for the input.

I can't use my American Mastercard on some of Rakuten stores which is very frustrating.

Amazon JP works fine though.

Rakuten gets my vote as well. Very easy to use, and the point system is a nice added bonus. :D
