Foreign talent feeling gypped by top agency
japantimes.co.jp
Inagawa Motoko Office, one of the largest and oldest show business agencies catering to foreign performers in Japan, recently came under fire from some of its registered artists for not paying them in a timely manner for work they have done...
....In recent interviews with The Japan Times, 10 people registered with IMO said those who do not ask the agency for money multiple times have no chance of getting paid, and there are many foreigners who have gone home unpaid....more....

I've been hit up on the street for interviews by TV shows at least 8 times. They usually give me a pen (wtf?) or a towel from the TV station after I rant about something for 5 minutes or so.

How many obscenity laws have you broken? :p

I did a voice over for a pr0n DVD once. Strangest job I've done (so far?) in Japan.

The TV/ad/etc company is probably paying reasonable rates, just 90% of it goes to the agency and the very f'd FGs get peanuts.

What have they asked me about?
1) My opinion about that Horie guy from Livedoor.
2) What Japanese cultural gifts do I bring back for friends in the US? Answer: afroken alarm clocks, pizza delivery flyers that clog my mailbox, varieties of Kit Kat, and Gamera canned spam.
3) What do I think of Akihabara? That, definitely got censored.
4) What was the first thing that stood out when I got here? Answer: akin to there being attractive flesh everywhere.....again, censored and probably placed on a watch list.
5) What J-pop stars do I like? Was unable to provide an answer on that one.

Did a radio commercial and a voice over for a shopping centre...part of my job working at inaka eikaiwa....had no bluddy choice...

'Welcome to the Bell Mall shopping centre blah blah...' in a husky voice from too many ciggies/bourbons..
