I'm looking for someone who has worked in the nighttime entertainment industry in Tokyo for a short one-to-one interview, see below for more information.
My Background - I'm Laura, a 22 year old Radio Production graduate from England. I moved to Tokyo this year to spend more time in Japan learning about the culture and the language. I do what most foreigners do - teach English! Whilst I'm in Japan, I want to build up my portfolio of radio productions, for personal use, not to sell or broadcast, simply so I have a portfolio of material to show for my year out, when I go back to the UK!
My Plans - I want to make a series of short audio features (NO video, just audio) about the variety of jobs foreigners can do out here in Japan. Ideally I wanted to focus on the more controversial jobs, such as maid cafes/host/hostessing/stripping etc. So I'm looking for someone with some experience in these fields who would be willing to be interviewed, and talk about your experiences in the particular industry.
Your Privacy - Obviously your privacy is the most important thing. I have a lot of experience working on controversial projects and my most important priority is that interviewees privacy is protected, especially when discussing personal information. You will be kept completely anonymous throughout the interview and your name will not be revealed at all during the feature - a pseudonym will be used. I will be recording your voice only, and can assure that this is purely for my own portfolio, not for broadcast whatsoever.
How it will work - I will send you my interview questions in advance of the recording so you have some time to think about your answers. Then we will arrange to meet for about 1.5 hours to record, preferably in a recording studio in Shibuya - exact studio to be confirmed. The payment will be Y3000 for the interview, which I will pay to you on the day.
