Gaijin-run bars & restaurants

If you can't beat the Japanese, serve them
Three foreigners find peace in Tokyo

Japan Times Aug 5
If you're looking for contentment in Japan, serve the Japanese...three entrepreneurs do what most foreigners here would never think of doing. They run bars or restaurants catering largely to Nihon-jin. ...
...there are times when even Miller has had enough.

"One of our former regulars -- this little guy with a foul mouth -- started abusing customers one night. He wouldn't leave when I asked him to, so I just picked him up and carried him out.
"But he didn't want to go. He was clinging to anything he could get his hands on. It was like trying to put a cat in a bag. That was the last we saw of him."
While quietly chuckling at reminiscences that would make most others cringe...After barring a particularly troublesome customer from his yakitori shop, Cox was forced to take matters into his own hands when the man took to creating disturbances in front of the shop.
"A friend of mine had a pellet gun. He and I would take turns taking target practice on the guy, and he finally stopped coming around."...And then there was the yakuza experience...

The bar I used to work at had a similar yakuza experiece. Basically the yaks came in thinking they could pressure him into paying some money. A fight ensued, and my boss kicked the shit out of these 2 guys. He was arrested and spent three nights in jail. Charges were never filed....so then the yaks came back and demanded money for beating them up...(one guy had a brand new cross-eyed look from getting his head dropped on the corner of a big A.C. unit). They wanted several million, but settled for about 50 man, and we never saw them again....

Considering that many bars in Japan won't serve gaijins this isn't such a bad idea at all!
Check out what I think you gaijins should be doing when you get to Japan at http://www.tokyoessentials.com ! Cum on, DO IT, I know you want to...

Where are you trying to party, Greener?

The only places I haven't been allowed in was a couple Pachinko places in Chiba and a pink salon in Amagasaki that was near a rental studio that me and some friends used to play music at. We never tried to get into the pink salon, but the old man outside that would try to attract customers would always yell "Gaijin NO! Gaijin NO!" as we walked by. After the third time I finally yelled back "Omae no mise no kitanai onna sawaritai hazu nai nen!"

He never talked shit again.
