This type of job looks like it's a gaijin job but actually isn't.

First'vall, are you familiar with the PSP's rather arcane Linux-based architecture? It certainly doesn't look like a normal PC, as I found out when I asked the charming looking geekgirl at a Linux exhibition

Me: "Well hallo li'l laydee. Whady here? A PS2, c'mon luv how does that work then?"
Her: "It has a protected memory graphics subsystem, unlike a normal x86 architecture."
Me: "Yeah ... um very good luv, well done" *makes quick exit*

Vector graphics programming. Your maths marks were good at school?

Also, you willbe expected to be at least level 2 JLPT. The translation work is to write manuals from Japanese into English. Don't ask me why non-native translators are doing this, but Capcom's "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" might offer a clue.

Lastly, device drivers. Mmm. Well, that'll take the fun and games out of games programming 8O

A friend of mine (NSOE, JPLT L1) got a job at SCE, he hated it, he said it was continual ijime from day 1, they passed him over for promotion (apparently only nihonjin can get promoted) so he got out of there ASAP.
