New Kodansha Coffee Table Japan

"Seeing Japan" by Charles Whipple, "Seeing Tokyo" By Kaori Shouji and "Seeing Kyoto" By Juliet Winters Carpenter. All around 100 pages harcover for $35.

$35 seems steep although Library Journal calls them "fairly priced". I tend to assume that these sorts of books are mainly bought by Japanese companies and public institutions to put in their visitor lobbies

It's funny, they got the politician Hosokawa to pen the intro to Seeing Japan. It looks like a nice picture book series which I'll be skipping.
