That ain't no Strat, not without 3 pickups. And a double humbucker on a Strat? Heresy!

I was right! I was in my local guitar shop dropping off my beloved old 1960 Gibson L-2 for some long-delayed repairs, when I saw a display of the Hello Kitty guitars. I was right, it's not a Stratocaster, it's a Squire. Strats are pro quality but Squires are student-grade.

Of course this means little unless you're into guitars.

Jackson's making music for big audience
The Tonawanda News, Grand Island, New York, April 14, 2006 09:16 am
... Jackson Music, which has in business for more than 25 years........Despite increasing business by more than 100 percent last year, the Wests are also busy raising their precocious 5-year-old, Theresa.
Like mom and dad, she already has a hankering for things that make you go hummm.
"I play guitar, piano and drums," said Theresa just as she slipped on a Hello Kitty six-string and made her best "guitar face," as her mom calls it.

Now THIS is a REAL Strat, note the three pickups. Also note the price: $21,920 (the article's yen/dollar conversion is a little inaccurate).

The guitar has just been bought by a Fukui real estate businessman. There were six potential buyers and he won the final draw. It seems he makes is well-known for buying these kinds of items. He's already picked up some Kitty bling and has spent freely on Nagashima memorabilia.

What a great call Sparkle. You know one sees so many of these guys with those stupid rug styles, when now days, they have got all of the "ARIRANSU" stylists and the like, that can knit hair on to a bowling ball and these guys still turn up with the old welcome rug on the head styling!

I have really begun to believe that there is a school of thought or a following of the bath mat syndrome! There are just too many of them sporting these astro-turf additions around for it to be a coincidence! Surely nobody would style real hair like that, would they?

Didn't Ike's opponent (from Illinois) wear a coonskin cap? Do you remember that? hehehe!

That's what a rug is!

Hope you aren't too sensitive (actually, I don't care), but some of us do have have hair in places above our shoulders. For those of youse who don't (don't worry Taro, I won't mention your name), you shouldn't have drank that Bull Frog beer when you were growning up.
