Will Lupin take lumps in LA?

I'm no big Lupin fan but I cannot imagine someone like Sean Penn playing Lupin, can you?:?

I like Lupin, but I cant imagine anyone other than a Japanese playing the part as wacky as it is can be.

I havent seen the recent Lupin, so I dont know how serious it gets.

But the early ones with the uber busty Fujiko are pretty wacky and funny.
