The inventor of the board game "Othello", Goro Hasegawa, has come up with a new game he calls "Miracle Five". Just as Othello was largely just a reworking of the existing "Reversi", Hasegawa's new idea bears more than a passing resemblance to Gomoku Narabe (play it here or here) which is comparable to large scale nought and crosses. The aim in Hasegawa's new game - build a line of five pieces - is the same but player's can move their pieces on the board once they have placed them. Bandai, who are selling the game, are calling it "Othello for the 21st century".
