Amazon Japan: 英語で秋葉原を紹介する本 (Guiding Your Friends Around Akihabara in English)
Publisher Goken this week introduces a new book which aims to help Japanese explain Akihabara to foreigners. Goken says that although the number of foreigners visiting Akihabara is increasing, many Japanese don't really know much about the place so the book has information in Japanese about how to buy figurines, what to do in a maid cafe etc. alongside English phrases to help pass this knowledge on to us. This is the first in a planned series of books designed to help Japanese communicate in English about aspects of Japan which foreigners visitors want to see. I don't know what it says about how the publishers regard us but the second book, due out in May, will be「英語で新宿二丁目を紹介する本」 (Guiding Your Friends Around Shinjuku Ni-chome in English).
