Mainichi Gives Space To Soka Gakkai

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:12 am

[floatl]Image[/floatl]The Mainichi has again become a target for Japan's netizens. What has angered them this time is a decision by the newspaper to give over some column space to the Daisaku Ikeda, the head of religious group Soka Gakkai. Many 2chers have come to regard the publisher as public enemy No. 1 these days and allowing Ikeda to have a prominent platform has further fuelled their hostility. The content appears to have been Ikeda's thoughts on the way forward at this time of economic and political crisis which seems innocuous. However, some commenters are warning that the paper is on a slippery slope and risks becoming a mouthpiece for the religion

As Take has pointed out before that there has been a past connection between Mainichi and SG. It may well simply be SG providing money in a business transaction. However, the 2chers may well be feeling their oats after their big victory over Mainichi on the WaiWai game.

The 2chers may be open for some problems in this try, as SG is not without some big guns in the background.

Should be fun to watch.....
