Asahi: Firm looks to win laughs on U.S. TV
Japanese entertainment giant Yoshimoto Kogyo Co. will kick off a drive to boost its presence overseas in a tie-up with two U.S.-based TV production companies this year, officials said. Yoshimoto, known for its lineup of stand-up comedians, will create three programs with New York-based Notional and Reveille Productions along with major Tokyo-based broadcasters TV Asahi Corp. and Tokyo Broadcasting System Television Inc. After an initial airing in Japan, Yoshimoto hopes to export the programs to the United States and elsewhere..."As the domestic market shrinks with the decline in population, we hope to find new business opportunities both in other parts of Japan and overseas that will lead us successfully through the next century," Yoshimoto President Hiroshi Osaki said Wednesday...To overcome the language barrier, Yoshimoto has already begun creating silent comedy skits for broadcast...more...

It seems that the female announcer Yuko Aoki (next to the Heroes guy) has the same name and kanji as a former pinup idol, which could lead to some confusion (and distraction) when searching on Google.
She does seem to have a habit of posing with short dweebs (she's 173 cm)...
