There's a new TV show for all you Showa Nostalgians.

Apparently Showa was Shiny. Sounds like the propaganda arm of Abenomics is starting to pull its weight.

Hopefully we'll get a few shots of those delicious wiggle skirts and some of those creamy beer poster girls. I do hope they skip the 80s. Neon fashion, Acid Wash denim and those horrid wet perms simply need not be glorified.

I did giggle a bit that it's produced by BS Japan..............i know, i know..................

Probably not any worse than Mad Men or any of the other Baby Boomer BS produce. Any bets on how much time they spend on Showa 16-20?

What goes around comes around. I've been seeing vestiges of 80's fashion creeping back lately.
Not sure if it's coming back in Japan (yet), but I have even seen a few thicker brows on females (not quite mono though).
One can always hope that ハイレグ (swimwear and leotards), Tバック (G-strings), and ボディコン ("body-conscious" tight one-piece short dresses) make a comeback... (if you're gonna Google those terms, most of the results will be NSFW).
