I have been out of the USA for over 25 years and never watched the SIMPSONS but I saw this quote today at imdb about *****"ANY GUM-CHEWING MONEKY IN A TUFTS UNIVERSITY JACKETcan come and gawk at them''****... CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS QOTE TO ME? ..... AND what it was doing in that episode and was the writer of that episode from Tufts? Any meaning to the phrase re TUFTS?

It sort of a self-deprecating/inside joke about Tufts University (Ivy League wannabe).
