Lost in Translation - Anyone else seen this?

Movies, TV, music, anime other random J-pop culture phenomenons. Also film/video production, technical discussion, cast and crew calls, etc.

It's not a "Hollywood" movie at all. Bill Murray had the FG'dness dead on perfect. Like looking underwater at the pool and seeing nothing but fat asses.....and swimming away...

National Critics Hail 'Splendor,' Theron
Sun-Sentinel.com / January 4 2004, 7:48 AM EST
NEW YORK -- "American Splendor," the life story of a grumpy file clerk who attains cult celebrity status by becoming a comic book writer, took best picture honors at the National Society of Film Critics awards Saturday.
Clint Eastwood's working class crime drama "Mystic River" was second in the voting for best picture and Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation," a quirky tale of two Americans finding friendship while in Japan, took third.
.... and Bill Murray won best actor for "Lost in Translation."

I was wondering about that. I remember the Matrix made a huge splash in Japan, and all kinds of TV shows were talking about it. Did the same thing happen with Lost In Translation? Did you hear anything about it over there?

It's being covered in the film buff programs I watch like Star Channel "Coming Roadshows"......but NOPE it's Lost in Translation here in Japan unless it wins a major award. Japanese folks loooooove the "Matthew" segment being shown in the Lost in Translation previews (disproving the "racism" claims of clueless PC whiners at the NYT, New Yorker, etc.).

My favorite show in the entire world is Matthews Best Hit TV! He's hilarious. I taped a bunch of it while I was over there.
