sekai shokunin wagon

I've seen this show a couple of times. and while I appreciate the workmanship and skill these Japanese craftsmen have, it seems just a bit too much that they are travelling the world and showing them how great Japanese artisans are. Yesterday they were in Germany, and they repaired a balcony railing and a park bench. Great! But you mean to tell me that there is not one German carpenter who couldn't have doe the same thing? Also, with all the great skill these people have, why are they not in Tohoku helping build houses for the poor people who are still stuck to live in temporary housing, going on 8 years after the disaster.
Sorry for the early morning rant, but I really must stop watching Japanese TV.

I'm more annoyed by suddenly everything getting labelled "Japan Craftsman" in marketing. (and doubly so because the non conjugated "Japan [ x x x]" has become the norm.)
